Belagavi Lok Sabha polls 2024: Date, schedule, result, party-wise candidates and other key details

Earlier known as the Bamboo Village, Belgavi is considered as one of the oldest, strong, prominent and well cultured historical place nestling high in the Western Ghats. The winning candidate for the Belagavi constituency in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections was Mangala Suresh Angadi of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), a major national party. Mangala Suresh Angadi's victory underscored the BJP's ability to consolidate support and secure electoral success in a competitive constituency like Belagavi. His win reflected the party's appeal among diverse sections of the electorate, including rural and urban voters.

Belagavi Lok Sabha polls 2024: Date
The Election Commission has announced the voting schedule for the General Elections to Lok Sabha 2024. Belagavi will cast its votes on May 7 in Phase 3 of the elections.

The elections will be conducted in seven phases across the country. In Karnataka, the elections will be held in two phases. Phase 1 voting will take place on April 26, and Phase 2 voting will take place on May 7.


The model code of conduct has come into effect immediately after the announcement of the election schedule. This code bars the government from making any policy decisions during this period.

Belagavi Lok Sabha polls 2024: Candidates
The political parties are yet to release their candidates for the Lok Sabha polls in the Belgavi constituency. Till now, both national parties, BJP and Congress have released their two lists.

Former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa announced that party leader Jagadish Shettar will contest the Lok Sabha election from Belagavi for BJP.
