Baar-Baar launch karna padta hai: PM Modi takes a dig at Rahul Gandhi
Prime Minister Modi, at the Startup Mahakumbh, drew parallels between entrepreneurship and politics, highlighting the difference in their dynamics. Seen as a veiled dig at Rahul Gandhi, Modi praised India's startup ecosystem and emphasized its rol...
"Many people try to 'launch' startups, especially in politics, sometimes multiple times... The difference between you and them is that you're experimental. You try new ideas after the failure of one launch," PM Modi said without taking any name.
The dig was apparently made on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi's recent endeavors, including the Bharat Jodo Yatra and the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, are perceived as strategic moves to rebrand himself and assert his leadership within the Congress party, particularly in the lead-up to the forthcoming General elections. Notably, Gandhi is poised to contest again from his current constituency, Wayanad.
Speaking on the trajectory of innovation and development in the country, Prime Minister Modi commended India's timely decisions that have propelled the nation forward. "Today, the energy & vibe is amazing! Strolling along the stalls and watching your inventions, I could feel the vibe that India's future holds many Unicorns and Decacorns. For promoting startups, India made the right decisions at the right time," he expressed.
Highlighting the government's initiatives in fostering a conducive environment for startups, Prime Minister Modi emphasized India's significant strides in establishing itself as the world's third-largest startup ecosystem. With over 1.25 lakh registered startups contributing to the employment of more than 12 lakh individuals, India boasts over 110 unicorns and has registered over 12,000 patents.
Moreover, the Prime Minister reiterated the significance of the Startup-20 initiative, which aims to integrate startup ecosystems globally. Notably, startups were prominently featured in the Delhi Declaration of G-20, recognizing their pivotal role as natural engines of growth.
Looking ahead, as India braces for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, scheduled in seven phases from April 19 to June 1, Prime Minister Modi's remarks resonate against the backdrop of a burgeoning startup culture and a dynamic political landscape. With a staggering 96.8 crore eligible voters, the upcoming elections hold immense significance for the nation's democratic fabric.
As the nation gears up for the electoral process, the convergence of entrepreneurship and politics underscores the spirit of innovation and adaptability, essential for navigating the evolving contours of governance and economic progress.
