"In the future, the success story of Jammu and Kashmir will be the center of attraction for the world...Lotus are seen everywhere in the lakes here. The logo of the Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association formed 50 years ago, also has a lotus," said Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the crowd assembled at the iconic Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar.
PM Modi while addressing the crowd said that it is a coincidence or a sign of nature that the BJP's symbol is also a lotus and Jammu & Kashmir has a deep connection with the lotus.
Apart from highlighting the lotus connection in Kashmir, PM Modi also focused on the abrogation of Article 370.
"This freedom from restrictions has come after the removal of Article 370," PM Modi said while addressing the crowd.
"For decades, for political gains, Congress and its allies misled the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the name of 370 and misled the country," the PM added.
Describing Jammu and Kashmir as the crown of the country, the prime minister said the path to building a developed Jammu and Kashmir will emerge from tourism possibilities and empowerment of farmers.
The saffron party last week published its first list containing 195 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls which included central figures such as Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh among others. The party is expected to release its next list soon after it holds its CEC meeting again to discuss the names that will make it to the official second list.
