Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha Result 2024: PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti concedes defeat

Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party Chief Mehbooba Mufti conceded defeat to Jammu & Kashmir National Conference leader Mian Altaf. As per latest data from the Election Commission of India (ECI), Altaf leads by 2,36,730 votes. Mufti has 222469 votes, while Altaf has a whooping 459199 votes in the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha constituency.

Mufti took to X to concede defeat. "Respecting the verdict of the people I thank my PDP workers & leaders for their hard work & support despite all the odds. My deepest gratitude to the people who voted for me. Winning & losing is part of the game & wont deter us from our path. Congratulations to Mian sahab for his victory," she said.



It is only the first Lok Sabha election in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370. The five seats in Jammu and Kashmir underwent polling in five phases.
