BJP president JP Nadda, while launching the Sankalp Patra (manifesto) for the Arunachal Pradesh assembly elections in Itanagar on Wednesday, said there has been an 80% reduction in insurgency-related incidents in Northeast India during the 10 years of the Narendra Modi government. The manifesto promises the creation of infrastructure, employment, women's empowerment and accountable governance. Adventure tourism would be promoted in Arunachal Pradesh, he said.

He said around 66% areas of the region are now free from coverage of the Armed Forces (Special power) Act (AFSPA). The Northeast, which was earlier known for its bandh culture, insurgency and targeted killings, has made rapid progress in the last ten years, he said.

BJP has promised to provide 25,000 job opportunities for the youth and women, across government and non-government sectors.
