Despite the presence of celebrities at polling booths, Mumbai recorded a relatively low voter turnout.
Several Bollywood celebrities and industrialists made their way to polling booths to cast their votes and encourage Mumbai residents to do the same. Notable figures such as Union Minister Piyush Goyal, industrialist Anil Ambani, and actor Akshay Kumar voted early in the day. Later, film industry stars like Paresh Rawal, Shahid Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Rajkumar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor, Anupam Kher, and Manoj Bajpayee were seen at various polling stations across the city. Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and star batter Suryakumar Yadav also cast their votes, along with expectant parents Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.
A look at the urban turnout figures:

The voter turnout for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections has seen a noticeable decline when compared to the 2019 elections across the first five phases. In Phase 1 of 2024, the turnout was 66.14%, which is lower than the 69.53% recorded in 2019. Similarly, Phase 2 of 2024 had a turnout of 66.71%, slightly below the 66.50% seen in 2019. Phase 3 of 2024 saw 65.68% voter turnout, compared to 65.99% in 2019. Phase 4 of 2024 had a voter turnout of 69.16%, marginally lower than the 69.56% in 2019. The most significant drop was observed in Phase 5 of 2024, which recorded a turnout of 59.80%, much lower than the 62.43% in 2019.
