Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took a jibe at BJP MP Manoj Tiwari on Tuesday, urging the voters of North East Delhi constituency to defeat "Rinkiya Ke Papa" in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Campaigning for Kanhaiya Kumar, the INDIA bloc nominee from the North East Delhi seat, the AAP chief said, "This is Kanhaiya. He is the candidate here. You won't find the broom symbol here. You have to vote for the hand symbol. Press the second button. We have to make INDIA alliance candidate Kanhaiya Kumar victorious from North East Delhi and defeat Rinkya Ke Papa."

Congress has nominated former JNU Students Union President Kanhaiya Kumar to contest against BJP's Manoj Tiwari in North East Delhi. Tiwari, a two-term MP and popular Bhojpuri singer and actor, is currently trending on social media with a video and a song titled ‘baby beer pee ke nache (Baby is drunk on beer and dancing)’.

"Rinkiya Ke Papa" is a popular Bhojpuri song sung by Manoj Tiwari, who is the sitting MP of North East Delhi. The song is often used by Manoj Tiwari's political rivals to mock him.

Kanhaiya Kumar criticized Tiwari, saying, "The people of North East Delhi are saying that Manoj Tiwari has not been seen in 10 years. Manoj Tiwari has not done any work for the people here in the past 10 years. People are saying that they will change the MP who does not work. Change will be witnessed in the North East Delhi."

In a separate development, one person has been arrested in connection with an alleged assault on Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar during a meeting at the AAP office in New Usmanpur, police said. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police North-East, Joy Tirkey, the accused has been identified as Ajay Kumar alias Ranbir Bhatti (41).
