Lone voter of Gir forest
Mahant Haridasji Udasin is the only voter from Banej village located inside Gir forest. Udasin said that although his vote is a secret at the time of polling, it no longer remains so during the counting. "All I want is improvement in the condition of roads," he added.

Residents of India's mini African village in Jambur voted for the first time at a special tribal booth. They celebrated this opportunity by grooving to the beat of drums. "This is happening for the first time which makes us very happy. Our forefathers are from Africa and we came to India many years ago. When the fort was being built in Junagadh, our forefathers came here for work. We have got the status of Siddhi tribal community," a villager said.

Centenarian voter
Many citizens above the age of 100 went to their respective polling booths to cast vote in different parts of the state. In a tweet, Gujarat's Chief Electoral Officer P Bharathi praised 110-year-old Shantaben Thakor, who exercised her franchise in Vijapur town of Mehsana district. Besides, a 102-year-old woman voted in Palanpur, while a woman aged 108 cast her vote in Godhra.
