Nirmala Sitharaman to present Union Budget 2026 on February 1
India Budget 2026: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget on February 1, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla confirmed the Budget date on Monday, dismissing speculations around the key announcement. This will mark Sitharaman's ninth budget in the Parliament.

The Budget session of Parliament will begin on January 28, 2026, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said earlier. He said the President of India has approved the summoning of both Houses of Parliament for the session.

The Budget Session of Parliament will run till 2 April 2026 and will be held in two phases with the first part will conclude on February 13, and Parliament will meet again from March 9, with the President set to address a joint sitting of both Houses on the opening day of the session.

Being the first parliamentary session to be held every year, the Budget session begins with the President's address to a joint sitting of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.
