TN government ups milk procurement price

The Tamil Nadu government has announced a hike in the procurement price of cow milk by Re 1 and buffalo milk by Rs 1.04, without affecting selling price to the consumers.

CHENNAI: A day after rolling back the power tariff, the Jayalalithaa government on Tuesday government announced a hike in the procurement price of cow milk by Re one and buffalo milk by Rs 1.04, without affecting selling price to the consumers.
Despite giving enhanced procurement price, the government has decided not to increase the selling price to the consumers, chief minister Jayalalithaa said in a statement. The AIADMK supremo instructed officials to act without delay in this regard.
While the price of the cow milk has been increased by Rs one to Rs 10.50 per litre, that of buffalo milk has been increased by Rs 1.04 to Rs 12.50 per litre, she said.
