The great wall of MSMEs set to counter Chinese goods
The government is planning to counter increasing imports from China by aggressively marketing made-in-India products.
KVIC has partnered Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to facilitate direct business linkages between industry and rural community and widen both domestic and export markets.
The initiative will see convergence of schemes and efforts of panchayats, KVIC and CII under a memorandum of cooperation between the ministry of panchayati raj and KVIC, and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between KVIC and CII. KVIC is also planning a fast-track processing system for extending the services of Rural Industries Consultancy Services (RICS) to potential beneficiaries for project formulation and linkages with banks. The panchayati raj ministry will set up common facility centres and will provide backward linkages to identify genuine beneficiaries for the KVIC schemes.
The KVIC-CII public-private partnership will work towards facilitating direct business linkage between industry and the rural community. The partnership will aim at enhancing the reach of khadi and village industries by means of seller and B2B meets, cluster visits and preparing focused publicity material.
