NEW DELHI: Telecom minister Manoj Sinha and department officials will meet top telecom chief executives next week on call drops, for taking stock of the 100 days action plan for alleviating the situation.

"We will review (the plan), it will be stock taking and roadmap for the future," telecom secretary, JS Deepak told reporters, adding the meeting will be held by on November 1.

"There has been, we believe, from Trai figures, lot of improvement on call drops, from 54 networks that were not performing up to standard in October 2015, now it's down to 19," he added.

Telecom companies including Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India, Idea Cellular and Reliance Jio had committed to invest Rs 12,000 crore and installing 60,000 new cell sites to improve quality of service, which will in turn better the call drop situation.
