Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa announces design centre for aerospace parts, textile processing park
J Jayalalithaa today made a slew of announcements, including a textile processing park and a higher computer and engineering design centre.

"An integrated textile processing park will be set up by SIPCOT ( State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamilnadu) at a cost of Rs 150 crore in Thiruvadanai at Ramanathapuram district," she told the state assembly.
At an estimated expenditure of Rs 450 crore, 30 textile sector companies would come up in the 224 acre park giving direct employment for 6,000 persons. Also, it would have one crore litre capacity desalination plant, she said.
"To aid the growth of aerospace sector companies, at an investment of about Rs 350 crore, TIDCO would set up a higher computer and engineering design centre in Vallam-Vadakal villages in Sriperumbudur taluk in Kanchipuram district," she said.
The Centre would have super fast computer and design facilities to design and develop aero spare parts. "It is expected that more than 50 aerospace spare parts design and development companies would set up their units here,"she said.
Also, Rs 100 crore will be provided to TIIC to shore up its capital base, she said.
A caustic soda factory,a Joint Venture initative between State run Tamil Nadu Salt Corporation with private participation will come up at a cost of Rs 200 crore in Nagapattinam district, she said.
TIDEL Park Coimbatore Limited would set up a development Centre at a cost of Rs 32.61 crore with all infrastrucutre needed to set up small and medium IT companies immediately, she said.
The Chennai-Ranipet and Ranipet-Hosur Industrial Corridor Projects have been integrated as Chennai-Bengaluru Indisutrial Corridor Project.
Through a Special Purpose Vehicle Company, Ponneri Industrial Node which features in the Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial project area would be developed in three phases over 20 years.
The first phase of the project will be implemented during 2016-19 at a cost of Rs 13,314 crore, she said.
