Sushil Kumar Modi writes to Pranab Mukherjee on GST

PATNA: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi has written to Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee to resolve the GST compensation issue expeditiously to enable its implementation at the earliest.

"The payment of the GST compensation to the states has not been resolved to affect its implemenation," Modi said in a letter to Mukherjee two days ago.

Modi, who heads the Empowered Committee on the GST, said the resolution of the GST compensation issue was essential for its implementation once the parliamentary committee submitted its report to the Parliament during the monsoon session.
