'States to have flexibility to implement CSS'
States will be assured maximum flexibility to implement the centrally sponsored schemes (CSS) for the rural sector, Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia said on Friday.
Ahluwalia, here to attend the southern regional consultation on Draft Approach Paper for the 11th Five Year Plan, said such a demand had been made by many states.
"The Centre would consider maximum flexibility in implementation of rural development schemes like those for sanitation and drinking water," he told reporters on the sidelines of the meet.
