State plans contract system for hiring

ahmedabad: the gujarat government is planning to introduce contract system for all recruitment in the state for the government jobs. announcing this on saturday, state finance minister nitinbhai patel said this would help fill vacancies despite a 20 per cent cut in jobs. patel said the new system would be based on the state government’s experience of employing “vidya sahayaks�. as per the scheme introduced in the education department, primary teachers are being recruited on contract for five years and later absorbed into regular employment as per the requirement.
