Senior citizens concession reduced from 65 to 60 years

Railway authorities have lowered the age bar for concessions for senior citizens from 65 years to 60 years, a railway press express trains of all classes and are also entitled to travel in Rajdhani and Shatabadi trains, the release said.

MUMBAI: Railway authorities have lowered the age bar for concessions for senior citizens from 65 years to 60 years, a railway press express trains of all classes and are also entitled to travel in Rajdhani and Shatabadi trains, the release said.
Senior citizens are also entitled to 30 per cent concession on circular journey tickets for distances of over 1,000 km.
No proof of age is required at the time of purchasing tickets, however, during the journey a senior citizen could be asked for some documentary proof showing their age or date of birth, the release said.
The concession has so far been available for citizens above the age of 65.
