SAD under DEPB exempted on exports before April

The government has exempted exports made upto April under the Duty Entitlement Passbook Scheme from Special Additional Duty.

NEW DELHI: The government has exempted exports made upto April under the Duty Entitlement Passbook Scheme from Special Additional Duty.
A Directorate General of Foreign Trade notification said this exemption was being given as the DEPB rates were worked out taking into account only the incidence of basic customs duty.
The notification issued recently said DEPB already issued for shipments before April will have to be resubmitted for endorsment by June 30 for claiming the exemption.
