Rs 2030 crore for tribal development during 12th plan
The Himachal Government has proposed budgetry provision of Rs 2,030 crore for a tribal sub-plan for the state during the 12th five-year plan.
While addressing the 42nd Meeting of the Tribal Advisory Council Meeting held at Dharamshala, Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal disclosed the proposal today.
The chief minister said, "compared to Rs 1,260 crore during ongoing the 11th Five Year Plan, the state government would be spending Rs 770 crore more under tribal sub-plan by enhancing the budgetary provisions to Rs 2030 crore".
He said that the state government had earmarked nine per cent of its budgetary provisions for concentrated development of tribal areas of the state and Rs 695.67 crore were being spent under plan and non-plan provisions during current financial year.
Additional budget was being provided under Central sponsored schemes ie Bharat Nirman and Border Area Development etc, he said.
Shri Khimi Ram Sharma, Tribal Development Minister, thanked Chief Minister for his personal interest in protecting the interests of tribal people.
