RBI clears Lehman Bros' business plan

MUMBAI: Reserve Bank of India on Wednesday cleared the plan of US investment banking firm Lehman Brothers to start primary dealer business.

The entity, called Fixed Income Securities Private Ltd, is authorised to undertake Primary Dealer business with effect from tomorrow, RBI said in a release.

Lehman Brothers is already carrying out investment banking operations in the country.
