Punjab chalks out plan for SSI
Punjab chief minister on Sunday announced that the state government had chalked out a comprehensive plan for the development and modernisation of the cottage and small scale industry in the state.
Addressing a state-level Vishwakarma Day function organised to celebrate the Parkash Utsav of Baba Vishavkarma Ji here, he said the single window system functional for new industrial units to complete procedural formalities for providing loans would also be extended to the existing industrial units for their expansion shortly.
Paying rich tributes to Baba Vishavkarma, the chief minister said that Baba Vishavkarama was the founder of art, craft, architecture and technology, which had been the base for the modern technological developments at the world level.
He said the industrialists and artisans during the past half century had contributed in a big way for the overall economic and social development of the country.
Appreciating the achievements of industry, the chief minister said that cycle parts, hosiery, and auto industry of Ludhiana had earned foreign exchange amounting to thousands of crores of rupees and also created a lot of employment opportunities.
