PSU pay revision report scheduled to be presented on Friday
The Pay Revision Committee Report for public sector enterprises is scheduled to be handed over to the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Pubic Enterprises tomorrow.
The second Pay Revision Committee Report would be submitted to the Minister of Heavy Industries and Pubic Enterprises Sontosh Mohan Dev, according to a government statement.
Over 16 lakh employees in over 240 central public sector undertakings are expected to benefit from the salary revision.
Constituted in November 2006, the committee was given 18 months to submit its report. The committee is headed by former Supreme Court Justice M Jagannadha Rao.
An official associated with the committee had earlier said while making suggestions, the committee will keep in mind the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission.
The report of the sixth pay panel, which recommended an average hike of about 28 per cent to the Central government employees, is under government consideration.
In the wake of strong opposition of government employees to the Pay Panel's recommendations, the Committee could recommend over 40 per cent hike in wage revision of PSU employees with effect from January 2006, the official had said.
