PSU land development authority: DPE is awaiting comments
NEW DELHI: The Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) is yet to receive comments from various ministries on the proposed Public Sector Land Development Authority (PSLDA), Parliament was informed today.

"The DPE circulated the report to ministries/departments in August 2012, the comments of which are yet to be received from all ministries/departments," Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Praful Patel said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.

In April 2010, a panel of experts from the Planning Commission had recommended setting up of the PSLDA for excess land available with CPSEs including loss-making ones, he said.

The committee submitted its report to the Planning Commission in November, 2011. This was forwarded to the DPE in May, 2012 for circulation to ministries for inter-ministerial consultations, Patel said.

The government has already allowed sick units to sell their surplus land to raise funds and utilise them for their revival.=
