Policy group to suggest changes in NEIIPP 2007

GUWAHATI: The forum of industry ministers did the mid term diagnosis of the North East Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy (NEIIPP) 2007 in Guwahati on Friday.

The forum of Northeast India industry and commerce ministers has decided to come up with the policy group to suggest the changes and modifications in the fiscal package, North East Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy, 2007 (NEIIPP 2007)

Pradyut Bordoloi, Assam Minister of Industries & Commerce and Chairman forum told ET, "There has been several dilutions in the policy over the years.

The group which will include people from different trade and manufacturing bodies from across the eight states of the region which will deliberate on the revised policy as the presently policy is due to expire on 2017.

The minister informed that a policy group will be formed for the international border trade as the region shares long borders with international countries.
