NEW DELHI: The Narendra Modi government said it has kick-started a mid-term appraisal of the 12th Five Year plan (2012-17), and will integrate its national development agenda with the remaining plan period, allaying concerns over the fate of the plan.

The general elections of 2014 and the consequent change of government at the Centre had led to a delay in the mid-term appraisal of the plan. ET had earlier reported that the government’s think tank NITI (National Institution for Transforming India) Aayog has started the process of appraising the ongoing five year plan. “NITI Aayog has initiated the process of undertaking the mid–term appraisal of the Twelfth Plan. This opportunity is also being used to weave in the national development agenda discussed in the meeting of the governing council for its suitable implementation in the remaining two years of the Twelfth Plan,” a statement said.
