PM Narendra Modi, Arun Jaitley to address ET summit today
India's political and business elite and some of the most influential global thinkers will be there at Delhi's Taj Palace Hotel for the Economic Times Global Business Summit.

The two-day summit starts on Friday with a star cast of speakers, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will give the keynote address to an invited audience of CEOs, ministers, senior officials, ambassadors and academics.

Coming on the heels of key economic ordinances and initiatives such as Make in India, the Prime Minister's speech will be followed with interest. Preceding him will be finance minister Arun Jaitley , who will address the audience as well as take questions just weeks before the Budget and a day after the RBI cut interest rates.

Nobel Laureate Paul Krugman will deliver a special address on the Indian Century. Professor Jagdish Bhagwati, the guru of free trade, will lead a panel of heavyweight India Inc members. The panel will deliberate on “Relaunching the India Story”.

Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy and Andhra chief minister Chandrababu Naidu will speak on “Opportunities Be fore India”, and Jayant Sinha, ex-investment banker and now junior minister for finance, will open Friday’s event with his address. Saturday has more to offer: the author of Black Swan and renowned risk analyst, Nassim Nicholas Taleb; and Union ministers for railways, telecom and power, Suresh Prabhu, Ravi Shankar Prasad and Piyush Goyal.

An intellectually heavyweight panel — chief economic advisor Arvind Subramaniam, MIT’s Abhijit Banerjee and Professors Krugman and Bhagwati — will talk of a subject on everyone’s mind around the world: What does the revival of the American economy mean for the rest of the world? The business summit is being presented by The Economic Times and Bharti Airtel, in association with the UK and the UP government.
