Planning Commission reconstitutes core group for states

NEW DELHI: The Planning Commission has reconstituted core group for preparation of state development report for Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Pondicherry and has constituted core committee for Lak-shadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Island.

The committees for Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Lakshadweep have been told to submit their reports by December 31, Tamil Nadu by September 30, Andaman & Nicobar Island by October 30 and Pondicherry by April 30, 2005.

The reports serve as a reference document on the development profile and strategies for accelerating the growth rate of the states. The committee Andhra Pradesh will be chaired by Planning Commis-sion member Abhijit Sen, those on Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry by Anwarul Hoda, Karnataka by Kirit Parikh, and those on Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Island by Syeda Hameed.
