PHDCCI asks Rajasthan govt to identify food parks and AEZs

PHDCCI sought identification of three more food parks and agri export zones for mustard, rapeseed, barley and spices and introduction of Contract Farming Bill in Rajasthan for promotion of medicinal plants.

NEW DELHI: PHDCCI sought identification of three more food parks and agri export zones for mustard, rapeseed, barley and spices and introduction of Contract Farming Bill in Rajasthan for promotion of medicinal plants.
"Rajasthan has geographical advantages in the export of exotic fruits and vegetables as it is well connected with Mumbai and New Delhi," the chamber said in a release here.
It asked the state government to announce a five year policy for export of fruits, vegetables and spices.
The chamber suggested increasing agricultural productivity by 50 per cent in the next five years by identifying select crops which has demand in the domestic and international market.
It also recommended private participation and investments in setting up units to develop seeds and planting materials.
