Paswan hits out at disinvestment policy

Lok Janashakti Party President, Ramvilas Paswan on Saturday criticised the Centre for its 'dangerous disinvestment policy' and said his party would launch an agitation against it.

PATNA Lok Janashakti Party President, Ramvilas Paswan on Saturday criticised the Centre for its ''dangerous disinvestment policy'' and said his party would launch an agitation against it.
"The disinvestment policy is dangerous for India and the Centre should reconsider its proposal to sell-off the public sector undertakings", Paswan said.
Stating that the disinvestment policy was the one among several issues that forced him to withdraw from the NDA and resign from the union cabinet, Paswan said the ministers in Centre who are reportedly opposing the policy should resign to put pressure on the government.
"The ministers who are opposing the policy have no no moral right to continue...Why don''t they desert the NDA", Paswan said.
Lodging strong protest against the Centre''s bid to close down the Barauni and Sindri units of the Fertilizer Corporation of India, Paswan said he had called a meeting of his party''s office bearers and Dalit Sena to chalk out an agitation plan.
