NEW DELHI: Orissa has demanded a Rs 1500 crore special package from the Centre to stimulate the state's economy. The demand is in addition to the Rs 9500 crore annual allocation for 2009-10.

"The finance minister of Orissa, Mr PC Ghadhai sought a one-time special package during a meeting in New Delhi with Planning Commission deputy chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia to finalise state's annual plan for 2009-10," an official in the Orissa government said.
