Niti Aayog is mulling a final framework document on future of mobility and has collected data from experts across the country with focus on.
NEW DELHI: Niti Aayog Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar urged State governments to formulate their respective alternate fuel policy and share suggestions
on modern mobility transition.

Besides, Kumar also called for a formation of task force in every state to formulate the policy and said NitiAayog is open to consultations and working with states.


There has to be a unified and convergent view on electric mobility among states and central government. In our federal system states are an equally important players, he said at the 58th SIAM Annual Convention.

Furthermore, Niti Aayog will present a paper to the government tomorrow at the Global Mobility Summit, which will cover all aspects of electric vehicles and other fuel options. Also, about a dozen states are likely to present their respective paper tomorrow at the summit.

Kumar said the paper to be presented tomorrow will cover topics ranging from asset maximisation such as shared mobility, logistics to connect rural areas better and data analytics as modern mobility is hugely data driven.

With regard to participation of all the states, he said Niti Aayog will work to bringing together all the states with principle secretaries to discuss the issue of electric mobility.

"We do want to come out with a final framework document which will determine or atleast indicate the future direction of the mobility in this country," Kumar said.
