Niti Aayog to hold consultations on Atal Tinkering Labs
To cultivate scientific temperament and a spirit of innovation in young minds, the NITI Aayog has decided to set up 500 Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) in schools across the country.

The consultations, to be held in the national capital, will provide a platform for exchange of ideas and knowledge among the experts to help create and put in place a framework for the ATLs that will be established in schools all across the country, Niti Aayog said in a statement.
Technical support for the consultations is being provided by the Intel Technology India and the meeting will be followed by NITI Aayog signing a Statement of Interest (SoI) with chipmaker Intel to further innovation among school children, it added.

These laboratories will provide a work space to the young students for shaping their ideas by hands on doing themselves models and learning innovation skills.
ATL initiative is a part of the Atal Innovation Mission ( AIM), which is an umbrella platform to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in India.
The objective of setting up such labs is to foster curiosity, creativity in children and inculcate skills such as design mind set, computational thinking and adaptive learning.
