NITI Aayog surrenders 56 posts of IES officers
Twenty-one out of the 56 IES cadre posts surrendered by the NITI Aayog were redeployed through an order in August, last year.

NITI Aayog had decided to trim the strength of IES Officers after the Prime Minister approved a task force's recommendations on restructuring NITI Aayog Secretariat.
Twenty-one out of the 56 IES cadre posts surrendered by the NITI Aayog were redeployed through an order in August, last year.
As per a recent Finance Ministry order, the remaining 35 posts have also been redeployed to various ministries and departments. These include, Ministries of Agriculture, HRD, Health and Family Welfare.
Earlier in August 2015, it was decided that the total strength for the Team India Hub, Knowledge and Innovation Hub, Flexi Pool and the Support Framework in the NITI Secretariat would be 500 as against the earlier strength of 1,255.
On January 1 last year, the erstwhile Planning Commission was replaced by a new think-tank, NITI Aayog, which is headed by the Prime Minister and has all chief ministers as members in a broad-based Governing Council.
