New Company Law Bill could be broached in Parliament
The Irani Committee has already given its recommendation and the bill is expected to be introduced in the ensuing winter session of Parliament.

BANGALORE: The new Company Law Bill is expected to be introduced in the winter session of the Parliament, a senior government official has said.
"The Irani Committee, constituted for the purpose, has already given its recommendation and we expect the bill to be introduced in the ensuing winter session of Parliament," Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Anurag Goel said in his inaugural address at the 4th International Mutual Fund Summit on Saturday.
As part of the building up of knowledge infrastructure, the ministry is also in the process of setting up an Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs which will act as a "think tank for the corporates and the government," he said.
"It will not only do capacity building for the government and stakeholders but also focus on service delivery," he said.
Out of the Rs 200 crore budget outlays for the institute, Rs 47 crore has already been sanctioned, Goel said.
One of the various centres which will be set up under the Institute will be Grievance Redressal and Investor Protection Centre, he said.
"Being investor-friendly is the main focus of the ministry and the launch of Investor Helpline last year was a step in that direction. The Helpline has been successful in resolving over 50 per cent of investors' grievances," he said.
Watchout Investors.Com, a website launched by the ministry, is another effort aimed at helping the investors.
The Ministry also hopes to get the Limited Partnership Liability Bill enacted in the winter session, Goel said.
