NCLT proceedings broadcast live on pilot basis

As a pilot, the proceedings of the principal Bench of the NCLT, presided by Justice Sudhakar Ramalingam and Member Avinash Srivastava, were broadcast live on YouTube. The initiative is expected to be scaled up in due course.

Proceedings of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) were broadcast live for the first time on Thursday on a pilot basis.

In a tweet, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) said: "In order to promote transparency in the court proceedings for the benefit of litigants and stakeholders, MCA and NCLT have taken the initiative to livestream the proceedings of the NCLT."

As a pilot, the proceedings of the principal Bench of the NCLT, presided by Justice Sudhakar Ramalingam and Member Avinash Srivastava, were broadcast live on YouTube. The initiative is expected to be scaled up in due course.


Last year, the Supreme Court decided to live-stream its proceedings in select cases. Several high courts, including those in Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha, have also started to livestream their proceedings.
