NABARD launches Rs 3,730 crore Potential Linked Credit Plan for Erode
NABARD's Rs 3,730 crore Potential Linked Credit Plan for fiscal 2012-13 for Erode district has been launched
The Collector said Rs 1,698 crore has been earmarked for agriculture. This is 45.5 per cent of the total credit projection, which is 16.4 per cent higher than the previous year's estimate of Rs 1436 crore.
Out of Rs 1698 crore, Rs 1312 cr would be given for crop loan. The balance of Rs 386 crore would be utilized for lending to agricultural activities,including horticulture, and micro level irrigation,he said launching the scheme yesterday.
He said 32.7 per cent of the total outlay amounting to Rs 1,218 crore would be given for non-farm sector loans and Rs 814 crore for other priority sector advances.
NABARD's Assistant General Manager G Santhanam asked banks to expedite grant of Kissan Credit Cards to farmers and also promote as many Joint Liability Groups as possible in the district.
