A joint venture project between Department of MSME & Textiles and Howrah Municipal Corporation is being set up at Belur, Howrah, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said.

KOLKATA: A joint venture project between Department of MSME & Textiles and Howrah Municipal Corporation is being set up at Belur, Howrah, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said today.

The project " Belur Shilpa Tirtha" is being developed on a 200-acre MSME industrial city at Belur, Banerjee posted on her Facebook wall.

"The industrial city will have a state of the art industrial park for all kinds of manufacturing activities and a world class logistics hub with requisite social infrastructure for housing, education, healthcare and recreation/entertainment. My best wishes to all of you," Banerjee posted.

She said that the joint venture would "give further boost to the sector" adding that 50,000 MSMEs had been set up in the state providing 4.5 lakh employment in last four years' time.

"You will be happy to know that more than 50,000 Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)have been set up in the state in the last four years with employment of about 4.5 lakh people," she wrote.
