MEA launches document to attract foreign investment
NEW DELHI: The Ministry of External Affairs today came out with a detailed publication about business and trade opportunities in diverse sectors of the Indian economy with an aim to attract foreign investment into the country.

The publication -- ' India in Business' -- was released by Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh.

It will be distributed to all Indian Missions abroad to provide information to prospective investors about business opportunities in India.

The publication has information about 25 promising sectors of the Indian economy besides details about FDI and regulatory authorities. This year's edition also gives an overview of the Indian economy.

"Economic interests have always been a key driver of our diplomatic relations, especially in today's era of rapid globalisation. Countries all over the world recognise economic diplomacy as a critical element of their statecraft and India has never been an exception to this," Singh said, speaking on the occasion.

"In this changing world of interconnectivity and interdependency, with various global players striving to influence the outcome of economic relationships, economic diplomacy continues to play a central role in how the Ministry of External Affairs interacts with the world," she added.
