MCCI hails decision

CHENNAI: The Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) on Friday welcomed the Tamil Nadu government’s decision to annul the existing licences of sand quarrying and entrust the job of quarrying and sales to the PWD. The government’s decision to restrict sand quarrying to maintain ecology and environment was a “step in the right direction�, said M Venkatraman, MCCI VP.
