MUMBAI: A day after the fire broke out at the Make in India’s Maharashtra night event, the department of industrial policy and promotion is conducting a review of its venue at the Bandra Kurla Complex to ensure all safety measures are in place. Mahindra Fire Fighting system is taking stock of the preparedness of the venue and will give it report today itself.

"I want to show my deep appreciation for the Maharasthra government for prompt handling of the crisis and administrative efficiency of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis," said Amitabh Kant, secretary, DIPP.

For its main venue at the MMRDA grounds, all structures installed are fire proof with adequate space between them to ensure movement of fire engines. an inquiry into yesterday’s incident has also been ordered .

So far, 25,000 people and 1,300 companies have attended the event, Kant said.
