Maharashtra to allow businesses to get permissions under Right to Service Act
Maharashtra government by February is going to ensure that industries and businesses can apply for permissions under the Right to Service Act.

A top state government official said that a Cabinet note is being prepared, which will be cleared within a month. Speaking to ET, another official said that the new policy will allow industries and businesses to apply for permissions to operate in the state under the Right to Service Act and respective agencies will have to clear the project within a month.
"If there are any queries or doubts regarding the proposal and the project is not cleared, then the project will land at the doorsteps of the Maharashtra Industry , Trade and Investment Facilitation Cell (Maitri), which will then be the nodal body for clearing such projects that have not been cleared under the Right to Service Act. Maitri will then study the project and it has powers to clear the project," said one official.
He added that Maitri has also been given a timeline of two months in which it has to take a decision on the project. "Maitri can reject or approve the project, but it has to be done within two months," said the official.
