Maharashtra puts information of Food Security Act on Facebook

PUNE: As part of the preparations for implementation of the Food Security Act, Maharashtra government has put the information about the Act on social networking site Facebook. Dipak Kapoor, secretary, Department of Food and Civil Supplies said that use of social media will help bring transparency in the implementation of the Act.

The inauguration of the implementation of the Food Security Act is on January 31, 2014 at Navi Mumbai. The actual distribution of food will begin from February 1. The features and eligibility criteria for taking benefit of the Food Security Act has been given on the website.
