Lift ban on export of non-basmati rice: BJP

BHIWANI: The BJP Haryana Kisan cell on Sunday demanded lifting of ban on the export of non-basmati rice. The farmers were agitating over the issue but Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar had no time to listen to their grievances, Kisan cell chief Ran Singh Maan said.

In a statement here, he said the ban on the export of non-basmati rice showed the "UPA government is anti-farmer". Maan said party's kisan cell would stage a demonstration against the ban on Monday.
