KSIDC appoints KPMG as consultants for study to reform acts and rules
KOCHI: Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) has appointed KPMG as consultant to undertake a study to reform the existing rules and Acts related to clearance procedures for starting an enterprise under the "ease of doing business" initiatives in Kerala.

KPMG will conduct a study and advice on best practices and provide suggestions and solutions for implementation of reformation in the respective Acts, rules and procedures in the concerned sectors.

Kerala government had appointed KSIDC as the nodal agency to implement the World Bank directed 'ease of doing business' initiatives. This is to meet the parameters laid out by department of industrial policy and promotion ( DIPP) on starting a business, dealing with construction permits, registering property, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts and resolving insolvency.

By achieving the set parameters Kerala aims for a frontline ranking in the ease of doing business environment among all states.

The suggestions and recommendations for reformation will be forwarded to the Government by KSIDC on completion of the study.

A formal agreement between KSIDC and KPMG was signed by KSIDC managing director M. Beena and KPMG director Prasad Unnikrishnan in the presence of principal secretary (industries and commerce) Kerala, P H Kurian.
