On Thursday, Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda launched the online registration of marriage under the Hindu Marriage Act. “Now one doesn't have to visit the sub-registrar's office for registering their marriage under Hindu Marriage Act. A certificate is generated at the comfort of home by providing a wedding invite, video, and Aadhaar. One more step towards transparency and service delivery,” the minister tweeted.
Bengaluru South MP (BJP) Tejasvi Surya posted on X: “Lakhs of marriages go unregistered due to the hassle of visiting govt offices for a certificate. Welcome move by Shri @krishnabgowda for making the marriage registration process digital & citizen friendly, enabling newlyweds receive certificate at comfort of their home.”
