Karnataka likely to get more 'allocation' in Railway Budget
Karnataka was expected to get more "allocation" in the Railway Budget as the Congress on Tuesday said the state has not received its due share and "some redressal will be coming."
Sharing "concerns" that Karnataka has not received adequate allocation in the Railway budget, AICC General Secretary Prithviraj Chavan today said the allocation of funds has been less than what the party had requested Railway Minister Lalu Prasad for various railway projects.
Chavan, also in-charge of Congress affairs in the state, where assembly polls are expected to be held by May, said, "it is a fact that allocation for Karnataka has been less. Railway ministry has been approached, some redressal will be coming," he said taking part at a meeting addressed by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi here.
Gandhi, while commenting on the Karnataka budget presented in the Parliament recently as the state is under President's rule, said he has not noticed any discrimination as the outlay (Karnataka budget) has gone up by 22 percent.
"So there does not seem any discrimination to me. If there is any discrimination, we will pay attention to it", he said.
