J&K govt approves Rs 66.89 cr plan for FY'12
The Jammu and Kashmir government has approved a plan of Rs 66.89 crore for development of Pulwama district in the current fiscal.
The plan was approved at a district development board meeting yesterday chaired by state Social Welfare Minister Sakina Itoo.
"The plan is Rs 3.11 crore higher than that of last year," an official spokesman said.
The spokesman said Rs 46.75 crore has been earmarked for health, education, PHE and other social services, while Rs 8.51 crore has been allocated for roads and buildings and Rs 4.88 crore for irrigation and flood control.
She said Rs 3.77 crore has been earmarked for rural development and Rs 1 crore for agriculture and allied sectors.
Addressing the meeting, Itoo called for more viable and perspective plans and impressed upon the officers for timely completion of projects while ensuring quality.
She also directed the involvement of public representatives, including MLAs and MLCs, in the formulation of work plans and development projects.
