J&K govt accords top priority to industry promotion: Azad
The Jammu and Kashmir Government has accorded top priority to promotion of industry in the state, Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said on Saturday.
Industrial development holds the key for employment generation and can provide a fillip to the state economy, Azad said at a high level meeting of officers and industrialists here.
The meeting discussed several measures for promotion of the industry in all the three regions of state - Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
The Chief Minister emphasised that the industrial exhibition to be held Jammu from November should be optimally publicised and organised in a befitting manner.
The representatives of industrial associations assured their active participation in the exhibition to make it a successful event.
The meeting was attended by Health Minister Mangat Ram Sharma, Economic Advisor to state government Haseeb Drabu, Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industries president Ram Sahai, Chief Patron of Federation of Industries Kuldeep Dogra and other leaders of industrial associations.
Anil Goswami, principal secretary to the chief minister, and Pawan Kotwal, secretary to the chief minister, were also present.
