Planning Commission of India has commissioned a study to examine China's succesful execution of its five year plans.

BEIJING: Planning Commission of India has commissioned a study to examine China's succesful execution of its five year plans and to absorb best practices followed by the Communist giant.

A two-member team headed by Alka Acharya, head of the Institute of China Studies is currently touring China interacting with the China's National Development Reform Commission (NDRC) which carries of out the planning process for the world's second largest economy.

On six-day visit, Acharya said the effort is to study the policy and execution of China's planning process.

China, whose planning process was credited with successful implementation in various areas, is currently implementing 12th five year plan which due to end in 2015.

The study is expected to help Planning Commission to take close look at China's planning process, specially in the areas of implementation.
