Government is likely to ease import norms for cement and expects prices to moderate further in the next few months, the top industry ministry official said .


NEW DELHI: The Indian government is likely to ease import norms for cement and expects prices to moderate further in the next few months, the top industry ministry official said on Friday.
"Prices will come down in the coming months," Secretary Ajay Dua said.
He observed that prices have firmed up in southern part of the country in recent weeks. However, Dua expected demand to fall during monsoon.
India would also ease norms for the certification of imports.
